Introduction

The Music Serenade is an extremely flexible chamber ensemble, based in Leeds, enabling the performance of chamber music of all types - large or small ensembles, mixed together in an infinite variety of formats - specifically tailored to suit programming wishes and/or promoters’ budgets. The players are drawn from the Orchestra of Opera North (ex- English Northern Philharmonia). The ensemble has regularly featured in the Yorkshire Arts ‘Musicians in Residence’ Scheme.

Contemporary music is always  encouraged  and with assistance from Yorkshire Arts, a new work ('Illuminazione') was recently commissioned (1998) from Thoma Simaku.
